I can’t wait for the sequel. I’m so anxious to see how Iolanthe and Titus’ relationship grows and I want to know how the Bane continues to escape death …. but the book came out this year so I’ll have to wait….
The Burning Sky is about a girl named Iolanthe Seabourne, who is an elemental. She didn’t think she was a particularly good one until she learned she can control lightning. The action attracts the attention of Atlantis, who seek to destroy all powerful mages – such as Iolanthe. Suddenly she is being told she is the most powerful mage of her time, the one who will defeat the Bane and corrupt Atlantis. Determined to keep her out of Atlantis’ hands, Prince Titus helps Iolanthe escape. He has spent his life looking for the great mage and knows he is destined to defeat the Bane alongside . . . him?
Titus is shocked to find that the great mage is a girl. It completely wrecks his plan, which is to keep the mage safe temporarily by having him attend the boy’s school Titus goes to. But it’s going to have to work, and as she hides, a girl in a boy’s school, Titus has to worry about training Iolanthe, who can barely contain her talent and is unwilling to help him. It doesn’t help that Titus has fallen in love with her . . . .
I really loved this book. I got it for Christmas and read it quickly. It was intriguing and the world was incredibly well thought out. I would definitely suggest The Burning Sky.
